Sticksman fills in for regular drummer Pete Robertson at Amsterdam show

Kaiser Chiefs‘ drummer Nick Hodgson guested with The Vaccines onstage in the Netherlands last night (January 3) – scroll down to the bottom of the page and click to see fan footage of the hook-up.

The Vaccines had originally been set to play the show at Amsterdam Paradiso last autumn, but were forced to reschedule the gig to allow frontman Justin Young to undergo throat surgery. With drummer Pete Robertson unable to make the rejigged date, however, the band asked Hodgson to step in.

Speaking to NME, the Kaiser Chiefs‘ man said that despite some early problems getting to grips with the songs he had enjoyed the show, stating:

It was great, I loved it. ‘Wreckin’ Bar’ was twice as fast, but other than that everything went well. I got really into it by the end.

The Vaccines played:

‘Blow It Up’
‘Wreckin’ Bar(Ra Ra Ra)’
‘We’re Happening’
‘A Lack Of Understanding’
‘Wetsuit’
‘Wolfpack’
‘All In White’
‘Post Break-Up Sex’
‘Under your Thumb’
‘If You Wanna’
‘Family Friend’
‘Norgaard’

The Vaccines are set to tour the UK in May 2012. The band, who released their debut LP ‘What Did You Expect From The Vaccines?’ last March, have lined up four seaside dates to take place in May.

They will play:

Dundee Caird Hall (May 2)
Bridlington Spa (3)
Blackpool Empress Ballroom (4)
Brighton Centre (7)
