VERVE VIDEO ‘ROCKUMENTARY’ DUE LATER THIS YEAR

THE VERVE are to release a video documentary later in the year called This Is The Verve: Do Not Panic.

The movie was shot on the band’s UK and US tours last year and features live performances and interviews with Richard Ashcroft and other group members. The video is expected to be just over an hour long. A spokesman for The Verve says it had been shot by past collaborators, George Hanson and Andy Baybutt, who have both worked on previous Verve video projects, and Wayne Griggs, The Verve’s soundman and DJ.

The spokesman adds: “Until it’s finished, it’s hard to say exactly what will be included in the film, though it was mostly shot at the dates they played last summer. But it won’t just be concert footage, there will be commentary from Richard, too.”

The band’s management are looking into securing a TV or cinema screening prior to the retail release of the video. Although a release date has not yet been set, a new version of the video for the band’s single, ‘Bitter Sweet Symphony’ featuring some of the live footage destined for the documentary has already been aired in Canada, where the single has just been released.
