Apparently it's no longer 'fun to stay' with the fancy dress collective
The Village People‘s lead singer Victor Willis is suing the current incarnation of the group for $1million (£675,000) over image issues.
Willis, who dressed as a policeman, is seeking the damages from promoter Sixuvus Ltd, agents the William Morris Agency and Can’t Stop Productions, who own the rights to The Village People band name, reports BBC News.
The star claims that his image and voice have been used for promotional purposes – and as well as the money, is seeking an order to prevent them being used in the future.
He is also suing several venues where the current Village People have played.
