THE VINES MAKE ‘WINNING’ RETURN TO UK

The UK gets ready for the first live airing of the band's forthcoming LP 'Winning Days'...

Vines have confirmed that they will play LONDON’s ELECTRIC BALLROOM next month.

The Aussie-rockers will make their UK comeback on February 19, with support coming from London’s hotly-tipped newcomers The Duke Spirit.

A full European tour is expected to be confirmed shortly – the dates will coincide with the release of the band’s follow-up to their 2002 debut ‘Highly Evolved’.

As previously reported on NME.COM, ‘Winning Days’, will be released on March 8, preceded by the highly charged first single ‘Ride’ on February 23.

[a][/a] moved to the remote Bearsville studio in the woods outside of upstate New York to start recording the record with longtime producer Rob Schnapf.

Describing the sound of the album, bassist Patrick Matthews told NME.COM: “The harder songs are harder and the softer songs are maybe the ones which have improved more. It’s more psychedelic than the first record. Just like ‘Highly Evolved’ there’s a few snotty punk ones and then there are the slow songs which have the real mellotron sound on it.”
