The Weeknd and Drake team up for new track ‘Live For’ – listen

The track is the latest material to surface from The Weeknd's forthcoming second album 'Kiss Land'

Drake has teamed up with Toronto R’n’B star The Weeknd on new track ‘Live For’.

The song, which surfaced online today (Aug 19), is the latest offering to emerge from The Weeknd’s forthcoming second record ‘Kiss Land’ and finds the singer (aka Abel Tesfaye) musing on life and priorities. “This is the shit that I live for/ With the people I would die for,” he sings whilst Drake also contributes a rap to the track.

Drake and Tesfaye also have a long history of working together. The Weeknd used to be affiliated with Drake’s OVO label, whilst earlier this month the star also made an appearance at OVO Festival in Toronto.

The Weeknd also put out two songs from ‘Kiss Land’ – the title track and ‘Belong To The World’ – earlier this year, whilst another track ‘Love In The Sky’ also emerged a fortnight ago.

As well as readying for the release of his of his own album, the prolific star has also remixed newcomer Lorde’s single ‘Royals’. The New Zealand teenager is gearing up to put out her own album ‘Pure Heroine’ on October 28 and will head to the UK for a one-off date in September.

‘Kiss Land’ is due to be released on September 10.

The Weeknd tours the UK later this year, playing three arena shows including a date at London’s O2 Arena. See below for the full dates.
