The Weeknd announces new album title and cover

Follow-up to 'Beauty Behind The Madness'

The Weeknd has unveiled the album title and artwork of his forthcoming LP, with a release date set to be announced.

‘STARBOY’ is the follow-up to 2015’s ‘Beauty Behind The Madness’ which included hit single ‘Can’t Feel My Face’ and ‘Earnest’ from the Fifty Shades of Grey soundtrack.

The Weeknd confirmed the title on Twitter, whilst also sharing the album’s artwork. It features a photo of the singer/songwriter, shot by photographer Nabil Elderkin. You can see the ‘STARBOY’ cover below.

Whilst the tracklisting is yet to be announced, The Weeknd was spotted in the studio with Daft Punk earlier this year.

An executive from Republic Records, the label The Weeknd is signed to, confirmed the news during a “hitmakers roundtable” hosted by Billboard in July.

Executive VP and head of urban A&R Wendy Goldstein was asked what artist she’d like to work with.

“Well, actually, we have a session coming up in two days with The Weeknd and Daft Punk, and I’ve always been a massive Daft Punk fan,” she said. “This is the first time I’ve been involved with an artist who’s going to go and work with them.”

The Weeknd’s Abel Tesfaye had previously hinted at the collaboration via a Facebook post featuring action figures of the French producers.
