The band have yet to confirm their gig plans
The White Stripes have denied reports of a giant US tour for this year.
A full raft of dates appeared on various US websites towards the end of last week (March 14), and was then repeated across the globe.
However the band’s management have now issued a statement explaining that the dates were in fact incorrect.
“The White Stripes have yet to confirm their north American routing as of yet. But we are happy to say that it will include all 10 provincesand 3 territories of Canada, as well as the remaining 16 states of the
United States the band have yet to play,” they explained. “A few major markets that have been journeyed to in the past, will be also be included.”
The statement added that “The north American tour will start in the state of Tennessee,” referring to The White Stripes confirmed appearance at the Bonnaroo Festival which takes place between June 14-17.
The band’s new album ’Icky Thump’ is expected to be released in June.
