If found guilty the White Stripes star could face prison time...

JACK WHITE could face up to a year in prison after being charged with aggravated assault today (December 22) following an alleged fight with Von Bondies lead singer JASON STOLLSTEIMER.

White Stripes guitarist is expected to turn himself in and be arraigned on the misdemeanor charge this week.

As previously reported on NME.COM, White came to blows with Stollsteimer on December 13 at the Majestic Theatre Center, where both musicians were watching a concert.

Stollsteimer told police that White had punched him in the face, though White gave police a statement on early Sunday morning saying he hit the Von Bondies singer in self-defence.

According to the Detroit Free Press, Wayne County Prosecutor Mike Duggan said: “It seems that far too often celebrities think that the law doesn’t apply to them. So many don’t understand the impact they have as role models on young people. This just can’t be tolerated.”
