The White Stripes camp break their silence over the incident with Von Bondies singer Jason Stollsteimer...
JACK WHITE “defended himself as any normal person would have” in the bar brawl with JASON STOLLSTEIMER, according to a statement issued by his spokesperson today (December 17).
As previously reported, a fracas between Jack and Jason in Detroit (December 13) ended in both giving statements to police and Jason visiting hospital for head injuries.
Following the incident at the Magic Stick venue, Von Bondies management issued a statement claiming Jason was “violently attacked” in the club “without warning or provocation”.
Not so, according to a statement issued to NME.COM by White Stripes’ press office.
Until now, nobody within the group’s camp was able to confirm White’s involvement in the incident, even after police reports stated he had.
Their statement claims: “Jack White was involved in a bar room altercation over the weekend in Detroit. Jack White defended himself as any normal person would have under the circumstances.”
Police will decide by the end of the week if any of the allegations will result in criminal charges.
