JACK WHITE has gone disco.

The White Stripes frontman is set to appear on ‘Danger – High Voltage’, the forthcoming disco/trash/metal crossover hit-in-waiting from Detroit veterans Electric Six.

White sings backing vocals on the song, set for release through XL in late October, applying his distinctive high-pitched rasp.

The song was an underground hit for the band last year, picking up favourable mentions from amongst others Jarvis Cocker. Electric Six, signed to XL Recordings earlier this year re-recorded the single, inviting their long-time friend and Motor City associate White into the studio to add his touches.

The band, formerly called The Wildbunch, have also just completed work on their debut album. It was recorded in the Ghetto Studios in Detroit, though will not see release before next year.

Electric Six will precede the single’s release with four shows in the UK, in Manchester, Glasgow, Brighton and London, during early October. Dates and venues were unconfirmed at press-time. It is unclear at which shows Jack White will appear with his friends.
