WHITE STRIPES TOP NME CHART AGAIN

THAT Kate Moss video is proving attractive to MTV2 viewers...

THE WHITE STRIPES have today (August 31) held onto the Number One spot in the NME CHART SHOW on MTV2, making it their second consecutive week at the top.

Jack and Meg’s cover of ’I Just Don’t Know What To Do With Myself’ has been bolstered by Sofia Coppola’s controversial video, which features Kate Moss poledancing.

Elsewhere in the chart, the highest new entry goes to Snow Patrol at Number Two with ‘Spitting Games’, closely followed by Biffy Clyro, at number five with ‘Eradicate The Doubt’, the follow-up to their breakthrough hit ‘Questions and Answers’.

Other new entries come from Yeah Yeah Yeahs, with ‘Maps’ at Number Seven, and Scottish art-poppers Franz Ferdinand with debut single ‘Darts Of Pleasure’ at Ten.

Meanwhile, Muse’s former number one ‘Time Is Running Out’ drops five places to Nine.
