The Who’s Pete Townshend kicks off South By Southwest

The renowned Austin music festival will be held in March

The Who’s Pete Townshend will deliver the keynote address at the South By Southwest (SXSW) Music and Media Conference held in Austin, Texas March 14-18 next year. The Who guitarist/songwriter will kick off the four-day music festival on March 14 at 6:30 p.m, Central Standard Time.

In addition, Townshend and British songstress Rachel Fuller will present a performance of their regular webcast series ‘Attic Jam’ with special guests on March 15.

The Who have resumed recording and performing, and recently released the critically acclaimed album ‘Endless Wire.’

Each year, the SXSW Music and Media Conference showcases hundreds of bands from around the globe. Last year’s conference featured groundbreaking performances from Hot Chip and Love Is All, as well as appearances by Morrissey and Goldfrapp. This year, approximately 1,500 bands will perform at venues throughout Austin.
