WHO STAR DIED AFTER TAKING COCAINE

John Entwistle's drug taking compounded a heart condition...

JOHN ENTWISTLE died after taking cocaine that caused his heart to stop, according to a coroner’s inquest.

The Who bassist died in a Las Vegas hotel room in June. The group were on the eve of a massive US tour.

An inquest at Tewkesbury Magistrates Court heard the bassist had spent the evening before his death at the city’s Hard Rock Hotel with a female companion.

The pair went to bed, but the following morning, the woman found him “unresponsive and cold”, according to BBC news.

Coroner Lester Maddrell told the inquest cocaine in his body had compounded heart disease.

He said: “He died from the effects of a single moderate usage of cocaine superimposed upon ischaemic heart disease caused by naturally-occurring coronary.”
