Band will now play a three-night stand at the city's O2 Academy
The Wombats have announced a further show in their home city of Liverpool for this December.
The band had previously announced two homecoming gigs in the city on December 8 and 9 at the O2 Academy venue and will now headline the venue again on December 7.
The trio, who are currently on their largest UK tour to date, released their second album ‘This Modern Glitch’ on April 25 this year.
The Liverpool trio have also recently revealed that they intend to record and release their third album much more quickly than their second and spoke of their wish not to have another large gap between records, as they did last time when they left four years between their debut and this year’s ‘This Modern Glitch’.
Speaking to NME in August, frontman Matthew Murphy said of the band’s plans to record a new album:
I don’t want to leave it as long this time round. We’ll be touring right up until the end of the festivals next summer, but after that we’ll try and put something together. Saying that, though, I want to it to be good, so if it’s 2045 or 2013, so be it.
Tickets for the show on December 7 go onsale at 9am (BST) on Friday (October 7). To check the availability of The Wombats tickets and get all the latest listings, go to NME.COM/TICKETS now, or call 0871 230 1094.
