The xx announce remix EP details

'HVNXX' EP will feature track remixed by artists signed to John Talabot's Hivern Discs label

The xx have announced details of a new remix EP to be released later this month (November).

The London based trio, who released their latest album ‘Coexist’ in 2012, will see tracks from the record remixed by artists signed to John Talabot’s Hivern Discs label for a four track release titled ‘HVNXX’ EP. Producers providing remixes on the EP include Marc Piñol and Mistakes Are OK. The Marc Piñol remix of ‘Fiction’ can be heard above. The ‘HVNXX’ EP will be available from November 11.

Last month (October) The xx and Sampha released a limited-edition split 12″ single. Just 750 copies of the split single were released on October 28. The single pairs ‘Without’, a track from Sampha’s recent ‘Dual’ EP, with ‘Reconsider’, a bonus track from The xx’s 2012 album ‘Coexist’.

‘Without’/’Reconsider’ is the second in a series of split singles being released this year on the Young Turks label, home to Chairlift, SBTRKT and FKA Twigs as well as The xx and Sampha. The special singles are intended to “showcase the exciting releases we’ve had throughout 2013”, the label explain on their website.

Young Turks’ previous split 12″ single, which came out on September 16, coupled a track from Welsh producer Koreless with a collaborative track between two Spanish artists, John Talabot and Pional.

Meanwhile, last month (September) The xx revealed they have “just begun” their new album, the follow-up to last year’s ‘Coexist’, and said they are “feeling inspired and ready to go”. ‘Coexist’ recently won the Best ‘Difficult’ Second Album Prize at the AIM Independent Music Awards.
