Iommi revealed the idea started as a joke
Black Sabbath guitarist Tony Iommi has admitted he would like to work with Tom Jones.
Iommi has said the idea to work with Jones first came about over 25-years-ago in a joke magazine article, but has revealed that he hopes the collaboration will now become a reality.
“Someone said we could create a concept album about a mythical monster visiting a Welsh pit village,” the 66-year-old told Team Rock. “I was talking to Tom recently and he said ‘Did you ever see that thing in the press about me joining you guys? It’s not a bad idea, is it?'”
He added: “I like Tom, he’s good. I’d actually like to do something with him. It could work.”
During a press conference at this years Sweden Rock Festival in June, Ozzy Osbourne revealed that there is a possibility for a new Black Sabbath album, despite previous reports from Iommi that the band were likely split following their tour dates this month (July).
Black Sabbath are currently touring in support of their latest album, ’13’. The LP went on to debut at Number One on the Official UK Album Chart to become their first chart-topper in nearly 43 years.
