Scottish band play crowd-pleasing set

Travis won over a packed house at the Wiltern Theatre in Los Angeles on Friday night (April 10).

The Scottish band, who were originally set to perform at the much smaller Henry Fonda Theatre, moved their show to the larger venue due to capacity issues.

“I was worried no one would show up,” frontman Fran Healy told the sizeable audience, but he needn’t have worried as the show was nearly sold-out.

The quartet ran through several tracks from their most recent album ‘Ode To J Smith’, including ‘Chinese Blues’ and ‘Something Anything’. They also played older crowd pleasers ‘Writing To Reach You’ and ‘Driftwood’, as well as their rarely performed song ‘Slide Show’.

The evening culminated with a rousing five-song encore, which included ‘Why Does It Always Rain On Me’ and ‘Blue Flashing Lights’ and got the whole crowd dancing.

Travis played:

‘3 Times & You Lose’
‘Chinese Blues’
‘Writing To Reach You’
‘J Smith’
‘Selfish Jean’
‘Something Anything’
‘Long Way Down’
‘Love Will Come Through’
‘Side/Eyes Wide Open’
‘Falling Down’
‘Humpty Dumpty’
‘All I Want To Do Is Rock’
‘Before You Were Young’
‘Why Does It Always Rain On Me?’
‘My Eyes’
‘Blue Flashing Light’
