The duo preview tracks from their forthcoming album...

return with a new single in October – and they’ll be going on an acoustic tour to coincide with its release.

The single, ‘Long Distance’, is released through Source on October 14, and is the first track to be lifted from their second album, due out early next year.

The us-yet-untitled album, the follow-up to the Mercury Music Prize-nominated ‘The Optimist LP’, is produced by Tony Hoffer, who has also worked on the new albums by Beck and Supergrass. The LP is due for release in early 2003.

CD1 of ‘Long Distance’ features another new track ‘Lost and Found’, and a remix of

the title track by The Bees. CD2 has another new

song, ‘Soulless’, and a remix of ‘Long Distance’ by Max Tundra.

The tour is a showcase of new album material in selected

all-seater theatres, with the bands mainmen Olly Knights and Gale Paradganian backed only by Texan keyboardist
