Brooklyn band will play hometown on August 11

TV On The Radio are set to perform at Prospect Park Bandshell this summer, as part of the Celebrate Brooklyn series of events.

The band will perform their home borough in August 11, with part of the proceeds going towards the Scotty Hardy Trust and Sweet Relief organisations.

Celebrate Brooklyn is one of New York City‘s longest- running free outdoor performing arts festivals. The organisation was launched in 1979 to bring people back into Prospect Park after years of neglect.

MGMT and Animal Collective will also play shows in the park this year.

Advance tickets are $30 and go on sale on Friday May 15 at noon. Tickets can be purchased online at ticketmaster.com, by calling 800-745-3000, at the Mercury Lounge box office at 217 East Houston Street from Monday to Saturday, noon to 7pm, or the Music Hall of Williamsburg box office at 66 North 6th Street on Saturdays from 11am to 6pm.
