Winners receive gig tickets and chance to have their picture taken by Alex Trimble
Two Door Cinema Club have launched a nationwide search for “local heroes” as they embark on their UK tour, which begins on Thursday (January 24) in Newcastle.
The band are looking to hear from the friends and family of carers, homebound soldiers, emergency services personnel and those with tales of individual bravery.
One “hero” living near each of the stops on the tour will be selected by the band and receive two tickets to the sold-out show. The band will share the winner’s story on their website and Two Door singer-turned-photographer Alex Trimble will take portraits of each winner to display in an online exhibition after the tour.
Alex Trimble explains:
We want to hear fan stories and celebrate the people who give back to their local community or put themselves on the line for other people. We always hear amazing stories from fans wherever we travel to and this time round we want to draw attention to them and share them with more people. We can’t wait to hit the road.
Fans can nominate their friends by sending in stories to one of a set of email addresses listed below. Each story should be accompanied by contact details of the nominated local hero. The band also want fans to share their stories over Twitter and Facebook with the hashtag #TDCCLocalHero. Each winner will be contacted by the band two days ahead of each show with further details.
