Say cheese! Metallica’s Lars Ulrich photographed with Two Door Cinema Club

Drummer hangs out with Northern Irish trio in California

Metallica‘s Lars Ulrich checked out Two Door Cinema Club in California last night (October 23).

The drummer came backstage after the trio’s show in Oakland, CA and said he loved the show, before asking the band for a setlist. You can check out Two Door with Ulrich, their tour manager and guitar techs above.

Alex Trimble recently revealed in an interview with Radio 1’s Zane Lowe that he is a massive Metallica fan. “I spent my teenage years learning all of the Metallica songs. My guitar skills came from Metallica,” he said. He then did a brief rendition of Metallica’s ‘Enter Sandman’ – which you can watch below.

The band, who are currently in the middle of a US tour, are also set to tour Australia later on in the year with chart rivals The Vaccines in support. ‘Beacon’ was pipped to the post for the Number One slot in the UK Official Album Charts by The Vaccines’ second album ‘The Vaccines Come Of Age’.

Speaking about the jaunt in an interview with NME singer Alex Trimble said: “We’re doing a touring festival out there in the New Year. We wanted to play some shows of our own too, and we saw The Vaccines were over at the same time we thought it would be perfect.”

When asked how the band decided who would be headliners, he added: “We booked the tour, but I see it more as a package than a headline tour.”

Two Door Cinema Club will tour the UK in January and February 2013. They will also play their biggest ever gig at Alexandra Palace in London on April 27.
