Could it be the first single from the new album?
Two Door Cinema Club have debuted a new song during a performance in Boston. ‘Gameshow’ was not played at any of the comeback shows in Ireland earlier this year.
The comeback gigs were billed as “a tribute to Two Door Cinema Club.” They were advertised alongside a photocopy-style flyer featuring three cats, and saying “Bono says ‘we’re even better than the real thing'”, a quote ‘attributable’ to the Irish Times.
The comeback shows marked Two Door Cinema Club’s first live appearances since December 2013, with planned shows for summer 2014 having been cancelled due to illness. The band are currently touring America before moving onto Europe and a few festival appearances.
The band were set to play at last night’s Governor’s Ball (June 5) but the Govenors Ball was cancelled due to severe weather warnings.
They took to Twitter to announce that they would be performing at the Music Hall of Williamsburg to make up for the cancellation. All proceeds from last night’s ticket sales went to the charity, Save the Children.
Last month (May 26) the band also tweeted that they were working on a video for the new single, as well as embarking on a photoshoot for the new album. You can watch the live debut of ‘Gameshow’ below.
