Tyler, The Creator reported to Australian police after woman claims he verbally abused her onstage

Rapper aimed verbal tirade at member of Australian feminist group during gig

Tyler, The Creator has been reported to Australian police by a woman who claimed her verbally abused her during a show in Sydney earlier this week (June 6).

24-year-old blogger Talitha Stone is a member of the Australian feminist group the Collective Shout, who had previously launched a campaign to end the rapper’s tour of the country and have him deported. They had called upon Brendan O’Connor, the nation’s Minister for Immigration and Citizenship, to revoke his visa.

As Stone told the Guardian, she had received widespread abuse on Twitter due to her protest against the Odd Future member. “Have to visit @Culturekings tomoz to protest against @fucktyler he will be there at midday. I think they need educating on #misogyny,” she wrote, before Tyler, The Creator retweeted her post and a number of his followers sent her threats over the social networking site.

She also claimed that, after deciding to attend his show at Sydney’s Elmore Theatre, he said from the stage that “some bitch was trying to get him kicked out of the country” and dedicated the track ‘Bitch Suck Dick’ to her. He also allegedly later told the crowd that he hoped Stone’s children “get some messed up STDs” and also said: “Fucking bitch, I wish she could hear me call her a bitch, too, fucking whore. Yeah, I got a sold-out show right now bitch. Hey this fucking song is dedicated to you, you fucking cunt.”

The Guardian now reports that she has reported the incident to the police. Speaking to Guardian Australia about the incident, she said: “My heart was absolutely pounding as I heard him start to mention me. I was petrified. I was standing among the crowd of people who were chanting along with threats towards me.”

Tyler, The Creator‘s Australian tour promoters Frontline Touring and the Enmore theatre itself both declined to comment on the incident, while a spokesperson for New South Wales police have confirmed they are investigating the complaint.

The rapper’s short tour of Australia wraps up this evening in Brisbane (June 8). He is due in the UK on June 30 for a set on the John Peel Stage on the final day of this year’s Glastonbury Festival.
