THE EDGE WINGS IT!

It's an Edge-y sort of tune...

U2 guitarist THE EDGE has taken time out from making the band’s new album to compose his second ‘BATMAN’ theme.

Back in 1995, U2 wrote ‘Hold Me, Thrill Me, Kiss Me, Kill Me’ as the theme for ‘Batman Forever’.

Now The Edge has recorded the theme music to new a new animated series ‘The Batman’ on the American WB network. He told MTV: “It was really just a case of creating a bedrock of something tough and slightly menacing that wasn’t necessarily too heavy and dark.

“The great thing about the whole ‘Batman’ idea is that it strips down life to the battle between good and evil. You can relate to different sides of that battle at different times.”

The new series is set in the third year of millionaire playboy Bruce Wayne’s secret life as the caped vigilante, and sees him come into contact for the first time with villains The Joker, Catwoman, The Riddler and Mr Freeze for the first time.

As reported yesterday, U2’s new album will be called ‘How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb’ and will be released on November 22. It is preceded by a single, ‘Vertigo’, on November 8.
