And Bono leads 3,500 fans in the ’Hokey Cokey’…
U2 invited 3,500 of their fans to appear in the band’s latest video for upcoming single ’CITY OF BLINDING LIGHTS’.
Thousands of people responded to an advertisement from the band’s official website [url=]U2.com and local Vancouver radio stations on Wednesday (April 27) to play a walk on roll in the promo.
The fans – some of whom had been queuing since 8am for the 3pm start – were treated to seven versions of ’City Of Blinding Lights’ at the General Motors Place venue for the video, directed by French duo Alex and Martin.
According to [url=]U2.com, the group’s stage manager Rocco Reedy provided a stand-up routine in between takes.
At one point, singer Bono led the crowd in the ’Hokey Cokey’ dance before then jokingly asking the rest of U2 why they’d entered ’Pop Idol’.
At 9.30pm, U2 gave fans an extra treat when they ran through ’Vertigo’, ’All Because Of You’ and ’Sometimes You Can’t Make It On Your Own’.
U2 continue their global ’Vertigo 2005’ tour tonight at Vancouver’s GM Place (April 29).
The band kick of the European leg of the trek in Brussels on June 10 and hit these shores on June 14 when they play Manchester’s City Of Manchester Stadium.
