After ditching touring plans for 2002, the band are back in the studio...
U2 could release new material this year, according to the band’s manager.
The Irish four-piece were widely reported to be considering playing a number of live shows across Europe this summer. However, that plan has now been put on hold so the group can return to the studio and work on new material.
Their manager Paul McGuinness said in a statement “U2 would like to clarify that, contrary to certain speculation in the press, they will be neither touring Europe this summer, nor splitting up. Instead, they are spending time in the studio working on new material for a possible release later this year.”
U2‘s last album, ‘All That You Can’t Leave Behind’, was released in 2000.
