NOT A SORT OF HOMECOMING, AFTER ALL

Talk of second warm-up date for their US tour dismissed as "Dublin gossip"...

Spokespersons for U2 have categorically denied the band are “considering” playing a secret show in DUBLIN as a second warm-up to their forthcoming US tour.

According to a report on the website [url=]www.showbizireland.com, Bono was present at a party in Dublin last Thursday evening (February 1). When asked if the band were looking to play a low-key show in the city, possibly at the Vicar Street venue, he reportedly replied, “Let’s just say we’re considering it.”

However, a UK spokesperson for the band contacted NME.COM this morning, and dismissed the story as “Dublin gossip”. She added the band had absolutely no plans to play in their hometown before leaving for their US tour, which opens in Miami on March 24.

U2 will play a low-key show at the London Astoria on Wednesday (February 7).
