U2 SET TO ANNOUNCE LONDON SHOW

The band are expected to warm up for their world tour with a show in an intimate venue...

U2 are rumoured to be lining up a secret show in LONDON as a warm-up for their forthcoming tour within the next couple of weeks.

A spokesperson for the band could offer no concrete news this afternoon (January 24) except to say that “they are rumoured to be doing a show within the next two weeks. An announcement will be made on their official website U2.com”. As soon as the news is announced you will be able to read it first on NME.COM.

According to [url=]www.u2.com, the band are on a high after the success of recent club gigs in New York Irving Plaza and Paris Manray, and are planning a show in London.

No further details have been made available at present, although the Scala, where Robbie Williams played a tiny gig for fans to promote his new album ‘Sing When You’re Winning’, has been suggested as a possible location. Other venues mooted include Kentish Town Forum and Brixton Academy. It’s also been suggested that February 7 is the likely date for the show.

If it happens, the show will act as a warm-up for the launch of their tour, which begins in Miami on March 24.

The band release their new single, ‘Stuck In A Moment (You Can’t Get Out Of)’ on Monday (January 29).
