Honestly, we mean it - Thom Yorke's little brother back with new record, deal and dates...
Unbelievable Truth, best known as the band featuring THOM YORKE‘s younger brother ANDY, are set to release a new single through the independent label responsible for their first record.
The Oxford three piece have returned to Shifty Disco following their official departure from Virgin last Monday (April 10). They will release ‘Agony’ on May 22. It features two previously unreleased B-sides ‘Roadside No.2’ and ‘Nightlight’. An album ‘sorrythankyou’ will follow in July.
The album had been recorded prior to the band parting company with Virgin. According to a spokesperson for Unbelievable Truth when the record was presented both parties realised that “it was the proverbial case of ‘a square peg, round hole’ and wisely went their separate ways.”
Shifty Disco had released ‘Building’ by the band in 1997, before they took off for the major label scoring two top 40 hits. Both ‘Higher Than Reason’ and ‘Solved’ were lifted from their debut album ‘Almost There’.
The band are heading out on the road to support the single. The tour dates are as follows:
Kentish Town Bull and Gate (April 19), Oxford, The Zodiac (April 30), Exeter Cavern Club (May 13), Brighton Pressure Point (14), Bristol Fleece & Firkin (15), London Dingwalls (16), Manchester Hop & Grape (21), Edinburgh The Venue (22), Leeds Rockit (23).
