Usher’s stepson dies two weeks after jet ski accident

11-year-old Kile Glover is removed from life support

Usher‘s stepson has died from the injuries he suffered in a Jet Ski accident.

11-year-old Kile Glover was taken off life support on Saturday morning (July 22). He had been in a critical condition since the accident happened earlier this month in Atlanta, Georgia.

According to TMZ, doctors removed Glover from life support after it was determined his injuries were too severe to overcome. He had failed to regain conciousness since the accident.

Kile Glover is the son of Usher’s ex-wife Tameka Foster who is said to have “struggled tremendously” with the decision to remove her son from life support and is “understandably devastated”. Kile was declared brain dead two days after the July 6 incident, after he was knocked unconscious when a Jet Ski collided with the inflatable raft he was playing in.

Glover and a 15-year-old girl were struck by the water vehicle while floating on the inflatable tube in Atlanta’s Lake Lanier. Both children were airlifted to the Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Egleston Paediatric Hospital. The girl is said to be recovering from a cut to the head and a broken arm.

The man driving the Jet Ski has been identified as 38-year-old Jeffrey S. Hubbard, a family friend. Authorities have said an investigation into the cause of the accident continues.
