V Festival celebrates after faker fined

Man guilty of possession of fake festival wristbands

A man has been fined £2,000 after being found in possession of fake festival wristbands at last year’s V Festival.

The 27 year-old man was found in possession of eight fake wristbands at the event’s southern leg at Hylands Park in Chelmsford.

Festival boss Bob Angus said: “We are delighted with (the) ruling as it is a significant step to stamp out the people that spoil the festival for everyone else.

“We do not approve of the production of fake wristbands and fully support the police with any plans to clamp down on people that produce them.”

This year’s V Festival has sold out, and will be headlined by Radiohead and Morrissey.
