Ezra Koenig and co have extended their run of gigs into October

Vampire Weekend have expanded their upcoming tour of North America.

Playing in support of their second album, ‘Contra’, which was released earlier this year, the New York group have lengthened their forthcoming run of gigs into October.

Beginning in Vancouver, British Columbia on August 28, the jaunt will now conclude in Miami Beach, Florida on October 13.

Support on the tour will come from Beach House and Dum Dum Girls, with The Very Best replacing the latter from the Berkeley, California show on September 25 onwards.

Prior to this, the band are set to appear at a series of European festivals including Glastonbury, T In The Park and Oxegen.
