Van Halen to record and tour with David Lee Roth?

New publishing agreement hints at reunion

Van Halen are recording a new album with original singer David Lee Roth.

The band have recently signed to extend their deal with publisher Warner/Chappell, and reports that brother Eddie and Alex Van Halen have stated they are working with Roth as part of that announcement.

According to a statement issued on August 5, the band “is currently in the studio recording an album with Roth that is due for release in 2011”.

Eddie Van Halen’s wife had previously dismissed rumours that the group would reunite, though did not completely deny a return was possible.

Van Halen‘s original line-up are also expected to tour in the new year, according to reports.

An album with Roth, would be the first by the original line-up since ‘1984’ came out 26 years ago.
