The Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young member hit a man on a highway in Santa Ynez yesterday (March 23)
David Crosby has been involved in a car crash with a jogger on a highway in Santa Ynez, California.
The founding member of Crosby Stills Nash & Young allegedly hit a 44 year old man at 55mph yesterday (March 23), with the injured person later airlifted to a nearby hospital. His injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.
TMZ report that Crosby told police he was blinded by the sun and immediately stopped his vehicle. A police report states that alcohol and drugs were not a factor in the incident.
A statement from Crosby’s PR reads: “David Crosby is obviously very upset that he accidentally hit anyone. And, based off of initial reports, he is relieved that the injuries to the gentleman were not life threatening. He wishes the jogger a very speedy recovery.”
Earlier this month, David Crosby called Kanye West “an idiot and a poser” during a Q+A on Twitter. The singer was asked his opinion of West’s music, as well as what he thought West’s impact as an artist was, by a fan. The singer-songwriter replied: “He’s an idiot and a poser… has no talent at all.”
When asked about Billy Joel however, Crosby said he thought Joel was a “very talent cat, writing, singing, playing.” And while he described Brian Wilson as “innocent, brilliant, and inspiring,” he said he would never play with Wilson’s former Beach Boys bandmate Mike Love because he’s “not a good person”.
Last year, David Crosby took to Twitter to respond to former bandmate Neil Young’s assertion that he will never again tour as part of Crosby, Stills, Nash and Young. “I hear Neil said ‘there will never be any more CSNY shows'”, Crosby said. “That’s like saying there are mountains in Tibet, we know Neil ….we already knew.”
He later replied to a fan’s question as to why there will not be any more CSNY shows with, “He is very angry with me…”
