Midweek Chart Update: Meghan Trainor on course for Number One spot

'All About That Bass' singer ahead in Official Album Chart at today's midweek point

Meghan Trainor is on course for the Number One spot in the Official UK Album Chart this week with her debut ‘Title’.


Official Chart Company data shows Trainor is currently 5000 copies ahead of her nearest competitor, Ed Sheeran’s ‘X’ (2) and last week’s chart topper, Mark Ronson‘s ‘Uptown Special’.

The full chart rundown is announced on Sunday (February 1). Victory would give Trainor their her first ever UK Number One album.

Other new entries in this week’s Official Album Chart at today’s midweek stage include The Charlatans (3), Papa Roach (8), Gaz Coombes (13), Chicane (24) and Bethel Music (26).

Prog band Periphery have two new albums in the Top 40 this week with ‘Juggernaut – Alpha’ new at 22 and ‘Juggernaut – Omega’ following at 27.

Meanwhile, in the Official UK Single Chart, Fergie could end Mark Ronson’s reign at Number One with her single
‘LA Love’ narrowly behind Ronson’s ‘Uptown Funk’ at today’s midweek update stage.

Rihanna, Kanye West and Paul McCartney’s FourFiveSeconds’ has also entered the Top 5 after just 48 hours on sale.
