The book is described as a a “vastly layered, wide-ranging history” of the show, with the 368-page novel reportedly acting as a sequel to the first series, detailing all the missing plot points of the last 26 years.

Frost released an accompanying trailer for the project, which includes a Hollywood postcard from Norma and Hank, a hospital intake form for the Log Lady, and a memo from Gordon Cole about a new crime scene with ties to Laura Palmer.

David Bowie had been planning to reprise his role in Twin Peaks before he passed away, new reports claim. Bowie appeared as Agent Phillip Jeffries in the show’s 1992 spin-off film Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me.

According to an interview with actor Harry Goaz in the Dallas Morning News, Bowie had been set to reprise the role for a cameo in the new season of David Lynch’s cult show.

Twin Peaks season 3 will air on May 21
