Two deaths being investigated on first day of T In The Park Festival

Stone Roses, Calvin Harris and Red Hot Chili Peppers are headlining the Scottish festival

Two deaths have reportedly taken place at this year’s T In The Park Festival.

The Guardian reports that police are investigating the deaths of a man and a woman at the Scottish festival, which runs from today (July 8) until Sunday (July 10) at Strathallan Castle in Perthshire.

Police have said that the death were being treated separately and that circumstances surrounding the deaths are unexplained.

A police statement said: “Police Scotland can confirm we are investigating reports of the death of a female and the separate death of a male at T in the Park.”

“The deaths are unexplained at this time and work is ongoing to establish the exact circumstances surrounding both.”

T In The Park has not yet commented on the news.

The Stone Roses, Calvin Harris and Red Hot Chili Peppers are headlining the huge Scottish festival. The 1975, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Jake Bugg will also perform over the next few days.

T in the Park’s line-up also includes sets from Major Lazer, Tinie Tempah, Disclosure, Bastille, LCD Soundsystem, The Last Shadow Puppets, The Courteeners and Jess Glynne. Other acts booked to perform include James Bay, Kaiser Chiefs, Chase & Status, Jamie xx, Alessia Cara, Craig David’s TS5 and Diplo.
