Song is part of new covers album dedicated to Randy Rhoads
The song, which is part of a new covers album dedicated to the late guitarist, who played with Ozzy Osbourne and Quiet Riot, also features one-time Black Sabbath drummer Vinny Appice and bassist Rudy Sarzo, who played with Rhoads in both Osbourne’s band and Quiet Riot. You can listen on the Consequence of Sound website now.
‘Randy Rhoads – The Ultimate Tribute’ is due for release on March 3 via UDR Music. The album also features contributions from Rhoads’ brother Kelle, Testament’s Chuck Billy, Dweezil Zappa, KISS’s Bruce Kulick, and Doug Aldrich of Whitesnake and Dio.
Last year, Tom Morello revealed that he was working on a solo album and compared the material to Jimi Hendrix. After four albums released as The Nightwatchman, Morello stated that his next output under his own name will follow in the vein of the legendary guitarist. “I want to make the craziest guitar record that anyone’s ever heard. The idea is that this is the Hendrix of now,” he said.
Earlier in the month, System Of A Down said that a new album could be in the works. Serj Tankian said in an interview: “There has been talk. we are going to play this tour, come back and we’re going to see where we are. If we have songs that work for System, if I have them and Daron [Malakian, guitarist] has them. The openness is there to work together, but we haven’t made any particular plans that we can announce.”
