Rapper was arrested in August prior to supporting Wiz Khalifa in Atlanta
Jeezy has been cleared of all charges after being arrested and charged with possessing an illegal assault weapon earlier this year.
As reported, the rapper was one of six people arrested at Atlanta’s Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in August where he was supporting Wiz Khalifa (pictured right). He pleaded not guilty to possessing an AK-47 assault rifle and was bailed on a $1million (£603,000) bail.
TMZ now report that the charges against Jeezy have been dropped and that the AK-47 was purchased legally by the rapper’s security. A DNA test proved Jeezy had never touched the weapon. It was also proved that the guns were unused and that Jeezy’s $1m bail was lowered four days after his arrest.
“I pray this had nothing to do with race but it definitely had nothing to do with evidence,” Jeezy told the publication. “I knew that the allegations and charges were based on zero facts. I’m relieved that the truth has prevailed.”
The initial arrests followed the fatal shooting of a 38-year-old man backstage at a gig Young Jeezy co-headlined with Wiz Khalifa at Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View called Under the Influence of Music.
