Radio 1 DJ joins Emma Willis and Jack Whitehall on list of names to follow James Corden
Nick Grimshaw has been made the favourite to replace James Corden as host of The Brit Awards for the 2015 ceremony.
Corden, who has hosted the ceremony for the past four years, has already announced that he will move aside next year. Radio 1 Breakfast Show host Grimshaw has been installed as the early favourite with Emma Willis and comedian Jack Whitehall also in contention.
Other names on William Hill‘s shortlist include One Direction member Harry Styles, Fearne Cotton and comedians including Keith Lemon, Russell Brand and Alan Carr. James Corden has odds of 8/1 to reverse his decision and stay on as host while Adele, who famously stuck two fingers up at Brits organisers in 2012 after having her acceptance speech cut short, is an outsider with odds of 100/1.
“Things are looking grim for us as 70% of bets have been for Nick Grimshaw and almost all the rest for James Cordon to return,” said William Hill spokesman Rupert Adams in a statement.
Corden himself has backed The Voice and Big Brother host Emma Willis for the job, saying the awards will “benefit from a fresh approach” when he moves on.
James Corden hosted the Brit Awards 2014 earlier this week, a night which saw Arctic Monkeys frontman Alex Turner pay tribute to the enduring spirit of rock music and David Bowie urging Scotland to reject the possibility of independence in a speech read out by model Kate Moss.
