Blood Red Shoes and Gruff Rhys lead latest Liverpool Sound City line-up additions

Jagwar Ma, Factory Floor and East India Youth also added to line-up in third wave of acts

Blood Red Shoes and Gruff Rhys lead the latest additions to this year’sLiverpool Sound City.

A third wave of artists set to perform at the multi-venue festival in May has been announced today with Gruff Rhys set to perform and also take part in a Q+A while at the festival. Blood Red Shoes, meanwhile, will bring their new and self-titled album to the Merseyside city for a one-off performance.

Other artists added to the Liverpool Sound City line-up today include: Jagwar Ma, Public Service Broadcasting, East India Youth, Bipolar Sunshine, Pins, Glass Animals, Factory Floor, Ratking, Say Lou Lou, Chloe Howl, Jaws, Lizzo, Public Access TV, Rosie Lowe and Slaves.

The Bug, Tennis, Neighbourhood, Years & Years, Tourist, Womans Hour and Sunshine Underground will also appear.

Earlier this year it was confirmed that Albert Hammond Jr. and New York rapper Action Bronson will perform in the city alongside The Hold Steady and former Doves frontman Jimi Goodwin. Also lining up to appear at the Merseyside festival in May will be Drenge, Royal Blood, The Wytches, Fat White Family, Superfood, San Fermin and Lyla Foy.

Other artists confirmed to appear at Liverpool Sound City this year include Fuck Buttons, Clean Bandit, Kodaline, Jon Hopkins, Jungle, Girls Names, Thumpers, Traams, Wolf Alice and Courtney Barnett.

It was previously confirmed that John Cale and Thurston Moore will appear as keynote speakers at the festival, which takes place between May 1-3. 45,000 attendees are expected to attend this year’s conference. For more information, visit: Liverpoolsoundcity.co.uk
