Earlier this month, the comedian played two work-in-progress gigs with former Razorlight drummer Andy Burrows at the Bloomsbury theatre in London rattling through tracks like ‘Freelove Freeway’, which previously featured in The Office, ‘Slough’ and ‘Equality Street’ while swigging from a can of Fosters throughout. Tickets for both shows sold out in under a minute and subsequently appeared on a secondary ticketing site for more than £1,000 each.
Brent turned his hand to music in May. Having revived the character for the BBC’s Comic Relief this year, Gervais issued an online series, Learn Guitar With David Brent, which was the character’s first recurring role since The Office concluded in 2003.
