Man arrested after Alabama shooting which killed two and injured six others

Police have arrested a man for the murders of rapper Doe B and a 21-year-old woman.

The shooting, in which six other people were also seriously wounded, took place in the early hours of the morning on December 28 at Centennial Bar And Grill on Highland Avenue in Montgomery.

Local police say 25-year-old Jason Quan McWilliams of Montgomery turned himself in and is being held without a bail bond. According to reports, jail records show he faces two counts of capital murder, but don’t say whether he has instructed a lawyer or not.

The 22-year-old rapper, real name is Glenn Thomas, Troy university student Kimberle Johnson and six others were shot. A police statement said the shooting stemmed from a dispute involving the rapper and a rival MC, with Johnson pronounced dead at the scene while Thomas was taken to the nearby Baptist Medical Centre South where he later died.

The Blueprint Group, the management firm to which Doe B was signed, released a statement saying: “Doe B was an amazing young man, in every sense of the word. A truly talented artist, a loving father and a dedicated member of the hip hop community at large, he touched the lives of the many people who had the privilege of knowing him.

“The Blueprint Group offers our condolences to our Doe B label partners Interscope / Hustle Gang, his management DJ Frank White and Brooklyn Knights, and most of all his family, friends and fans at this very difficult time. We ask that you remember him not by his untimely death, but by his love of life and the music he left behind.”
