Emily Eavis promises more efficient Glastonbury ticket sales

Tickets for the annual festival go onsale on Sunday

Tickets for next year’s Glastonbury Festival go on sale on at 9am on Sunday (October 7) – but only to those who have pre-registered.

Speaking to NME, Glastonbury festival boss Emily Eavis says measures have been put in place to ensure this year’s onsale is smoother than in previous years.

Emily Eavis says:

We’ve got a new system which we’re trying out, and we’ve had assurance from See Tickets that it is going to work well and be much more efficient. All I can say is that we’ve done all that we can to try and make it as quick as possible and not have people hanging on phone lines for hours.

Eavis refused to say exactly how many people had registered for the ticket sale. “The reason I don’t want to give figures is we don’t want to panic people. There were a lot of registrations but that doesn’t mean that there’s going to be all those people trying. I think it’s really important to feel like everyone’s got the same chance and it’s all going to be over as quickly as possible, hopefully, and hopefully it’s going to work really well. We’ve got high hopes this year with the new system.”

See Tickets, from 0844 412 4635 or, for international callers, from +44 1159 934 183. Up to eight tickets can be purchased per transaction, but each prospective ticket holder must be individually registered.

Glastonbury tickets cost £205 (+ £5 booking fee per ticket & £6 P&P per order), though they can be reserved with a £50 deposit per ticket. Pre-registration is now closed. Full details can be found here.
