Onsite crime down 33 per cent at Glastonbury 2013

Just 150 arrests have been made at this year's festival

The official police statistics for Glastonbury 2013 have revealed that crime is down considerably on the last time the event took place.

As of 1pm on Sunday (June 30), crime is down 33 per cent from the same point at the last Glastonbury festival in 2011.

There have been just 150 arrests and 104 reported thefts from tents. There are 177,000 people on the site at Worthy Farm, Somerset.

Mumford and Sons will bring Glastonbury to a close tonight when they headline the Sunday night of this year’s festival. Other artists appearing today (June 30) include The xx, Smashing Pumpkins and Phoenix.

Elsewhere, John Lydon will play live with Public Image Ltd, while Kenny Rogers will play Glastonbury’s traditional Sunday afternoon legends slot. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs, First Aid Kit and Deap Vally will also play early afternoon performances.
