Ricky Gervais announces David Brent shows

Comedian will return to 'The Office' character later this year for shows in Oxford and London

Comedian Ricky Gervais has announced two David Brent gigs to take place in May.

Brent will perform in character at Hammersmith Apollo and Oxford New Theatre. Tickets go on sale this Friday, March 7, at 9am. Scroll down for further details.

Gervais played his debut live show as his character from The Office in October 2013, performing as David Brent & Foregone Conclusion, with a backing band that included former Razorlight member Andy Burrows. Further gigs were teased earlier this year with Brown saying June is the current plan.

Ricky Gervais revived the character of Brent, who appeared as the hapless manager of paper company Wernham Hogg’s Slough branch in BBC comedy The Office for a sketch on Comic Relief in 2013. Last year Gervais performed two shows at London’s Bloomsbury Theatre, as well as one at Bristol’s Colston Hall. After massive demand for tickets, he hinted at a show at London’s O2 Arena, tweeting: “Oh well, O2 next then :)”.

Ricky Gervais will play:

New Theatre, Oxford (May 14)
Hammersmith Apollo, London (16)
