Plus new high entries for Jack White with 'Lazaretto'

Kasabian are at Number One in the Official Album Chart with their new album ’48:13′ at the midweek point today (June 11).

Official Chart Company data reveals that the band’s fifth album is on course to give them their fourth Number One, landing ahead of nearest rivals Coldplay at the midweek stage. The final chart will be revealed on BBC Radio 1 this Sunday (June 15).

There are a further nine new entries on this week’s Official Albums Chart Update with Jack White‘s ‘Lazaretto’ new at Number Three. Other new entries are due from Passenger (4), Dolly Parton (6), First Aid Kit (7) and Rival Sons (10).

Outside of the Top Ten there are additional new entries from Liverpool progressive rockers Anathema (16), The Who (17), Janet Devlin (18), Chrissie Hynde (19), Heather Peace (32) and Charlotte Jaconelli (35).

In the Official Singles Chart, former X Factor contestant Ella Henderson is ahead of Ed Sheeran in the race for Number One. Sheeran reached Number One for the first time with his single ‘Sing’ last week (June 8) but is lagging behind Henderson.

Meanwhile, a campaign to get a World Cup song recorded by Rik Mayall in 2010 back into the chart following his death on Monday (June 9) is already showing results with ‘Noble England’ new at Number 38.
