Daniel Radcliffe rocks out to metal in preparation for new horror film role

The Harry Potter star says he's been embracing the dark stuff

Harry Potter actor Daniel Radcliffe has admitted he’s been listening to heavy metal in anticipation for his new role in horror film Horns.

“I’m listening to a lot of metal and allowing that slightly demonic rock ‘n’ roll spirit out,” he told The Sun. “There’s nothing else like it.”

Radcliffe is set to star in French director Alexandre Aja’s dark fantasy film about a man who wakes up one night to find he has special powers. He plays 26-year-old Ignatius “Ig” Perrish, who one day finds he has sprouted a pair of horns which give him the power to divine people’s innermost secrets – and then forget the conversation they have had with him.

Last summer Radcliffe starred in the video for indie due Slow Club’s single ‘Beginners’ – which you can watch below.

Radcliffe, who is a big fan of the Sheffield band, is the main focus of the video, which sees him staggering around a deserted bar, drinking shots and punching walls. The clip was shot at the Faltering Fullback pub in London’s Finsbury Park.

The band’s singer Rebecca Taylor told NME, “We’d known Daniel was a fan and found this pretty cool, but then we met him, got to hang out and chat, and now we have him in our video. He is one of the most energetic and exciting people to be around and has been committed to getting the video right and for that we are so in awe.”

She also added adding that Radcliffe “looks like a massive babe throughout!”
