The annual industry and fan festival takes place in Austin, Texas this March
The third round of bands for this year’s SXSW festival in Austin, Texas has been announced.
New acts on the bill include Action Bronson, Big Freedia, Diane Birch, The Bots, Brazos, Kirin J Callinan, Charli XCX, Cherry Glazerr, Chlöe Howl, Andrew Combs, Dum Dum Girls, DZ Deathrays, East India Youth, The Family Rain, Fat White Family, Gang Of Youths, Dave Hause, Vic Mensa, Tor Miller, Nick Mulvey, Natural Child, Angel Olsen, The Orwells, Perfect Pussy, The Preatures, Radkey, Reuben and The Dark, Rustie, San Fermin, Superfood, Thumpers, Twin Peaks, Sharon Van Etten, Waylayers, The Weeks, Wet and The Wytches, who will all play the music leg of SXSW, which takes place in various venues from March 11-16.
They join Gary Numan, The Kooks and Cerebral Ballzy, as well as James Bay, Arthur Beatrice, Bipolar Sunshine, Black Lips, Bully, Diarrhea Planet, Esben And The Witch, The History Of Apple Pie, Hurray For The Riff Raff, James Iha, John Newman, Morning Parade, Papa, Rey Pila, Royal Blood, Skaters, Skream, The So So Glos, Spires, Talib Kweli, Torres, Wardell and Wolf Alice at the event.
The first round of bands were announced last year, and included Drenge, London Grammar and Bring Me The Horizon, as well as Avi Buffalo, DeLorean, Eliza Doolittle, Lovely Bad Things, Jessica Lea Mayfield, NO, Pure Love, Royal Canoe, Savoir Adore, Jack Savoretti and Urge Overkill. Keynote speakers for the festival’s film and interactive wings have also been revealed, with Lena Dunham of HBO’s Girls and Adam Savage of the Discovery Channel both talking at the event.
Last year’s SXSW saw performances from Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds, Haim, Alt-J, Vampire Weekend and Yeah Yeah Yeahs.
