Meanwhile, Paramore topple Justin Timberlake to score UK Number One Album
Duke Dumont and A*M*E’s ‘Need You (100%)’ has held off Judy Garland’s ‘Ding Dong! The Witch Is Dead’ from scoring this week’s Official UK Number One single.
The Wizard Of Oz track was favourite to top the chart this week following a Facebook campaign to get the song to Number One on the same week Margaret Thatcher died.
However, despite seeing a sales surge of more than 18,000 copies since Friday morning, the song finished behind ‘Need You (100%)’ in second place with a final sales tally of 52,605, over 5,700 copies behind Duke Dumont and A*M*E’s track, reports the Official Charts Company. Although it failed to top the chart, ‘Ding Dong The Witch Is Dead’ has become the shortest Top 10 single of all time, as it clocks in at under-60 seconds.
Meanwhile, Pink is at Number Three with ‘Give Me A Reason’, Bastille’s ‘Pompeii’ is at Number Four and Pitbull’s collaboration with Christina Aguilera, ‘Feel This Moment’, is at Number Five.
In the Official UK Album Chart, Justin Timberlake’s three-week reign at Number One has come to an end as Paramore‘s self-titled fourth album enters in at the top.
Justin Timberlake‘s ‘The 20/20 Experience’ slips to Number Two, P!NK’s ‘The Truth About Love’ is up two places to Number Three, ‘Our Version Of Events’ by Emeli Sande is at Number Four and Imagine Dragon’s ‘Night Visions’ completes this week’s Top 5.
Elsewhere, James Blake‘s second album, ‘Overgrown’, is at Number 9, Stone Sour’s ‘House Of Gold And Bones: Part 2’ is at Number 11 and The Knife’s ‘Shaking The Habitual’ ends the week at Number 31.
